Visual Inspection
We offer all customers a free visual inspection as a first step. Below we've listed the steps in our process and keep in mind that we build our repair estimates on data not guesswork so if there is additional testing required it will always be rooted in the information our technicians have pulled and interpreted from your vehicle. Step 1: The first step is to check that your 12 volt battery is working to specification. Consistent source voltage is the foundation for proper DTC analysis.
Step 2: Scan vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes on both enhanced and Global protocols and documenting all readings and freeze frame data. While diagnostic trouble codes assist in isolating a concern with a vehicle they are a part of creating a repair plan and more importantly ensuring that the vehicle is performing as designed.
Step 3: Visual inspection of fluid levels including engine oil level, coolant fluid level, brake fluid and/or P/S fluid when applicable. Whenever a fluid is low our first step is NOT to top off the fluid but to document the level and then recommend finding the source of the fluid leak.
Step 4: Visual inspection of braking components including brake pads, rotors, hoses and brake fluid level and coloration. Please note that this inspection does not include inspection of brake hardware and/or caliper components and performance.
Step 5: Visual inspection of steering and suspension components including control arms, control arm bushings, tie rods, sway bar links and ball joints.
Step 6: Posting all photos and technician notes and creating an estimate for the next step needed to service and/or repair your vehicle.
All of our services and repairs come with a 2 year or 24,000 mile warranty and our shop has been A.S.E. Certified for more than 25 years. Give us a call today to schedule your free visual inspection, 305-444-8881.
